PANGEA CARES
At Pangea, we want to be more than just an apartment provider. When Pangea Properties was founded, one of our priorities was to improve and give back to the neighborhoods where we own and operate. Because of that, we launched Pangea Cares, a 501c3 nonprofit organization. Through Pangea Cares, we have been able to help our communities from the inside out. At Pangea, we want to go beyond the walls of the buildings we renovate and rent — we want to do our part to support our residents and neighbors as well.
Our pillars:
- Food & Nutrition
- Education Enrichment
- Community Development
The Pangea Cares initiative allows the Pangea Family to focus on three main areas of community service, which we call our three pillars: Food & Nutrition, Education Enrichment, and Community Development. Each pillar allows us to make a meaningful social impact in our communities.
OUR VALUES
FOOD & NUTRITION
We know that good nutrition is one of the foundations of a healthy life, and with the help of the community, Pangea Cares has been able to positively impact the Chicago, Indianapolis, and Baltimore communities we serve. Each year Pange Cares manages and participates in events to bring nutritious and filling foods to those who need it. We also partner with organizations like The Greater Chicago Food Depository and other local shelters.
EDUCATION ENRICHMENT
We know that the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow, and with the right foundation, they can become agents of change in their families, neighborhoods, and wider communities. At Pangea Cares, we invest in our future by investing in the lives of students today. Through several of our programs and initiatives like our Foundation Program or our annual Backpack Giveaway, Pangea Cares supports the education of youth in our communities.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
We know that Pangea isn’t Pangea without our communities. At Pangea Cares, we want to do our part to make the neighborhoods we serve ones that our residents and neighbors love to live in. By participating in local neighborhood events and through initiatives such as clean-up efforts in local gardens, we strive to bring communities together and beautify the areas. We are always looking for new ways to give back to our communities.
SINCE PANGEA CARES WAS BORN, OUR EMPLOYEES HAVE CONSISTENTLY PARTICIPATED IN MONTHLY VOLUNTEER EVENTS, COLLECTIVELY GIVING 9,200+ HOURS OF THEIR TIME.
OUR OBJECTIVE
The first step to getting started was to find Pangeans who are passionate about giving back to the community and would work hard to ensure the success of the program. Once we had a team of dedicated people to run the program, we began reaching out to our residents, high schools, and local non-profits to build those connections in our communities.
Listed below are many of the programs and events our Pangea Cares initiative has participated in. Through this involvement, we have been able to provide an impactful experience for the youth, our residents, and our communities as a whole.
